"Who We Are & What We Do"

Hey!  I’m LaTrice Nettles, and I have taken on the privilege of being the club president of the Living Word Bible Study (LWBS) for it’s fourth year in existence.  It’s a new school year at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and I personally want to welcome you, new and returning students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni!

We are not the average group.  The focus of the Living Word Bible Study is to bring beneficial change to the shaping of our campus that everyone can taste and enjoy from:

• providing funds for students to eat
• to simple rides to Wal-Mart
• community volunteer opportunities
• music concerts and dance productions
• dynamic speaker events promoting health and domestic violence awareness
• Much more is in store!

We seek to provide a spirit-filled environment for you to:

• freely worship
• attain a deeper understanding of the Bible
• experience healing in your mind, body and soul
• to provide you with many diverse avenues to demonstrate the Gospel in new and awesome ways through your talents, giftings, and ideas.

We look to do extraordinary things and think outside the box. This year we will be providing special events to not just promote spiritual involvement, but to meet practical means, for all, including CHILDREN that we have on campus grounds as well.  So we’re an all-inclusive club: everyone is welcome!

Together we partner with Living Word Fellowship Ministries along with the support from various campus clubs and organizations who have worked alongside with us through the years, seeking to provide effective and long lasting efforts in enhancing our campus environment. 

We hope to inspire, and to continue to actively work with the different University departments, clubs, and other organizations that want to take part in this campus-wide effort, thus being completely effective while working together.

Come straight to the Student Life Gymnasium on the East-Side of Campus for a contemporary Sunday Worship Service at 11am.  Along with that, in our club meetings we provide opportunities for you to get involved in your areas of interests!

We want to provide a convenience for students to have a place to Worship on Sundays on campus, that’s just a walk away, closer than Wal-Mart… especially to the students and families residing on campus.
